Final Project Research and Inspiration

Researching the seven deadly sins was rather fun and intriguing. Its amazing to see other peoples interpretations on the same subject and see it reflected in familiar scenes (like the villains from Disney movies)

Wrath's punishment is to be dismembered alive.
Greed's punishment is to be boiled alive in hot oil for all eternity.

Envy's punishment is to be immersed in freezing water
Gluttony's punishment is to be fed snakes, rats, and frogs.

Lust's punishment is to be smothered in Fire and Brimstone.
Sloth's punishment is to be thrown into a snake pit where they would know no rest.
Pride's punishment is to be broken on the wheel.

Seven Deadly Sins from Full Metal Alchemist.

Final Project

Sins are so easily committed without second thought. As human beings we tend to ignore things that we don't want to pay attention to for the fear of feeling guilty about what has transpired. Hence why the faces are detailed yet faceless at the same time. As long as a sin is left in the dark we have to need to pay attention to it. However, once it is brought to our attention it is there staring us in the face everywhere we look. The seven deadly sins: Envy, Gluttony, Greed, Lust, Pride, Sloth and Wrath are in us all whether or not we like to admit it, it is what makes us human and is essentially our downfall.

Found Object

For all of my response drawings I took the photos first then let the sit out of sight out of mind for a couple of days. When I returned to the photos with a clear mind I went with the first impulse that came to mind. Looking at the photo's only once I went with what was imprinted in my mind and the emotions that I felt.
